Condi gets bitch slapped ... wow

I was going to publish a pithy article about Condi being a flip flopper over her cancellation and then reinstating a trip to Canada to discuss the missile shield. I was also going to comment on the bully tactics currently in favour with the administration occupying the white house but then I saw a diary on "The Daily Kos" that screamed at me ..... PRINT ME INSTEAD .... so I did.

Open Letter from Lloyd Axworthy to Condi Rice

Read it. Whether you are american or Canadian, it's an eye opener for sure. Americans may not like what it has to say unless you are a die hard liberal but it speaks truth to power and you should read it if only to understand how you are percieved by other nations and in fact your closest neighbour.

The letter quoted in the diary was written by a former Canadian Foreign Minister Lloyd Axeworthy. A former Canadian secretary of state for you readers from south of the border a position with some authority. That it is so scathing and sarcastic reflect just how far American/Canadian relations have fallen. It begins like this....

Dear Condi, I'm glad you've decided to get over your fit of pique and venture north to visit your closest neighbour. It's a chance to learn a thing or two. Maybe more.

I know it seems improbable to your divinely guided master in the White House that mere mortals might disagree with participating in a missile-defence system that has failed in its last three tests, even though the tests themselves were carefully rigged to show results.

But, gosh, we folks above the 49th parallel are somewhat cautious types who can't quite see laying down billions of dollars in a three-dud poker game.
