Harper salivating at thought of election

No need to wait for Gomery, Harper says

OK I have stayed mum on the Gomery Inquiry. Like many I would like to wait for his report before jumping to conclusions. That said my opinion is that IF any can be shown to be guilty they should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. Until ALL the facts are heard tho it would be wise to withhold judgement and I for one am sorry the publication ban was lifted prematurely.

That view was validated even more today when I saw reports of testimony here and here that appears to directly contradict the earlier damaging evidence supplied by Brault. Evidence that apparently was partly responsible for a precipitous decline in the polls for the Liberal party.

So now Harper is positively salivating at the thought of a spring election. Ugh, while the thought that liberals may be guilty of shady dealings with respect to the sponsorship scandal ticks me off, the thought of a conservative government led by Stephen Harper creeps me out even more. Yeah I might be pissed off at the Liberals for this fiasco, but you can damn well bet I WILL NOT vote for the conservatives .... EVER. The policy of the liberal party is what I will be voting for, and I will continue to have faith in the inquiry and the rule of law in this country to deal with anyone guilty of wrongdoing either inside or outside of the Liberal party. Folks it ain't over til it's over ... for gawd's sake don't jump to conclusions. As I showed you above, you simply don't have all the facts yet, and you won't until the inquiry finishes it's work and issues a full report.

People need to keep their heads over this one and I trust they will. No need to throw the baby out with the bathwater. Our job is just to make sure they clean the scum off the tub when they're done.
