NPA councillor Sam Sullivan, who supported the policy back in December, now says the cost is too high.Nobody is saying this measure is going to solve all the problems of the third world you nitwit. But you have to start somewhere and if Canada is to be considered an ethical nation this seems like a good place to start.
"I voted for an ethical purchasing policy. I didn't vote for a new bureaucracy, and I didn't vote to try to solve all the problems of the third world through Vancouver city council chambers," he says.
