I know it's not nice to take pleasure in someone else' discomfort but I just couldn't help myself. I just can't shake the feeling that it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

On Tuesday, Harper had to keep a dozen or more MPs outside the House of Commons for fear that the Bloc Québécois would support his motion on the Liberal budget and thereby precipitate an election.

As parliamentary humiliations go, having to prevent one's MPs from showing up to support their own budget motion should be hard to beat.
