Intelligence fix

Senator John Conyers needs your help. His diary on Kos today explains about a story that broke over the weekend regarding a memo leaked to the British press about manipulating facts to favour a desired war. Think about it a second. They wanted war. They fixed the facts to make YOU think war was necessary. They lied. DOESN'T ANYONE CARE THAT THEY LIED?

Read the full memo here

It seems that John Bolton threatening 2 intellligence agents to try and pressure them into changing their analysis is old hat with this administration. No wonder they don't seem particularily bothered by it. Fixing the intel to fit the desired outcome is apparently standard operating procedure with this crowd.

The London Times newspaper in Britain uncovered secret memos that tell a sordid tale of deceit and alleges that facts were being fixed to justify a policy that would eventually lead to war. Unjustified war ... and they KNEW it was unjustified or they woiuldn't have had to put in the fix! This is explosive and yet ... yet ... no mention in the american main stream media .... hmmmm .... I wonder why.

Now I can sort of understand why the rumsfeld/saddam story I mentioned earlier didn't make the rounds. The facts behind that story were admittedly somewhat shaky imo even tho I still feel that it at least deserved a mention since it WAS being widely reported internationally. I mean the MSM has certainly shown little discrimination airing other shaky stories ad nauseum with little to substantiate them and in some cases stories obviously based on outright distortion and lies (anyone remember the swifties) with little concern for their credibility.

This story however does not appear to be in that league. THIS story has legs ... and paperwork to back it up. THIS story is mainstream. So why the stonewall? Why isn't the American librul media all over this? Inquiring minds want to know.

Why is the runaway bride more important? My god! The woman got cold feet sat on a bus for days. When she got off she finds out the media has gone apeshit all over her and her picture is plastered all over every paper and every TV all the way from here to timbuktu. Shit. The woman ran away because she was stressed ... how do you THINK she might handle stress on THAT magnitude. Hell I might have lied in her place too ... she PANICKED fer christ's sake. LEAVE her alone. If the media hadn't made her the new poster child for their abysmal ratings this whole stroy might have had a very different quieter outcome. A PRIVATE one as it should have been ... not the media spectacle that was entirely fabricated by the media.

Instead .... THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE FOCUS OF THE SO CALLED LIBERAL MEDIA ...

* Prime Minister Tony Blair chaired a July 2002 meeting, at which he discussed military options, having already committed himself to supporting President Bush's plans for invading Iraq.

* British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw acknowledged that the case for war was "thin" as "Saddam was not threatening his neighbours and his WMD capability was less than that of Libya, North Korea, or Iran."

* A separate secret briefing for the meeting said that Britain and America had to "create" conditions to justify a war.

* A British official "reported on his recent talks in Washington. There was a perceptible shift in attitude. Military action was now seen as inevitable. Bush wanted to remove Saddam, through military action, justified by the conjunction of terrorism and WMD. But the intelligence and facts were being fixed around the policy."
Go read the rest of John Conyer's diary. He is trying to to get this story out. Help him. It's what you can do for your democracy, for your country. Call your senators and write letters.

Do it.
