The Downing Street Minutes have FINALLY broken thru the media's self imposed blackout. I wonder what's gonna happen now ... call me a cynic but I think I know. In fact it's already started.

The Repugs are dismissing the minutes as discredited and the MSM is dutifully going to march in lockstep with that line. On Countdown last night I heard the guest actually say that the Minutes had the feel of a DYING story.

DYING? Christ people are only JUST NOW starting to learn about it!

Bush claims that the minutes are irrelevant because they went to the UN after the DSM were taken. DAMN ... that's the POINT Mr President. You decided to go to WAR before you went to the UN! After your UN visit where, you had your man Colin LIE for you and when you demanded that Saddam allow the weapon inspectors back into Iraq, HE CAPITULATED! The inspectors DID go back in, and they were doing their job. I watched them do it on my TV screen .... and they continued to do their job until YOU ORDERED THEM OUT! YOU! MR GODDAMN PRESIDENT. YOU ordered them out.

Yeah you went to the UN all right. You crossed your T. But you didn't care ... did you MR President? You had ALREADY decided to go to war before you went to the UN, DIDN'T you Mr President. Nevermind that Kofi Annan, you know him, the SECRETARY GENERAL OF THE UN, declared that your invasion of Iraq would be an ILLEGAL WAR of aggression against a sovereign nation. You cared so much about the UN that you feel completely justified in ignoring ANYTHING they said that didn't fit into your little plan to jump start the Rapture.

If the American public continues down the path of extreme apathy as I suspect they will, the Repugs may just get their wish that this story go away. I know everyone on the left will do whatever they can to prevent that but it's an uphill battle. How can you fight against such apathy when they are willing to accept lies, not even good lies, as the truth. Some on the 'right' are claiming that the minutes have been discredited by everyone who has examined them up to and including the 911 Comminsion. Oh REALLY? If you cared to check your timelines the 911 commision completed it's work a YEAR ago and the DSM did not come to light until May 1 OF THIS YEAR. I wasn't aware that the 911 Commision has a TIME WARP MACHINE? How convenient. I wonder if they'll let me borrow it sometime.

COME ON PEOPLE. If someone lies to you once it's a sure bet that they would do it again. How could you possibly trust ANYTHING that a proven liar says to you.

How can you actually continue to trust a man who was willing to LIE you into an illegal war of aggression against a sovereign country, a man who is willing to utilize TORTURE for gawd's sake TORTURE in your name for the SAME illegal war.

Do you REALLY think actions like that make you SAFER in the LONG RUN? What about your kids? Will they be safer too?
